Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Finance Forum

So with the finance forum, the intent was clarity. However, if we expect finance personnel to engage with broader opinion, do they need to be finance specialists? I take that to mean that we don’t need finance majors any longer. Appreciate the additional clarity, Leadership!

Curious to hear thoughts on the new mandate to Finance to “get in the game”. Personally, I find it simplistic and borderline insulting. Am hearing more are quietly planning to exit because not playing for a team that has been “playing” us, and when game rules are intentionally ambiguous to benefit the chosen and can change at any moment.

Just wait until the India staff mess up an earnings reporting that hits the stock price. Then the "Future of Finance" and Neil will be history.

Still waiting for the promised clarity after mandatory finance potential drops. Hard to feel motivated when you’re potential 36 one day and then 29 the next…. Still expected to maintain consistent outstanding performance with no pay increase…. So grateful for the ExxonMobil meritocracy!

Sad really, I guess Neil feels better that he plays out this game whilst knowing that he'll be pulling the plug on many finance people in the next year or two. I guess he will blame it on the failure of Finance 2.0...when it was the plan all along.
