Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Zero Confidence in Sassine

Does anyone believe in this guy? He seems like he’s just a slick suit and doesn’t have any actual vision for the industry.

@OP You are totally wrong.

Sassine beats Lip-Bu in very aspect. Check the following link:

@b7 When a man is more focused on taking selfies at major business events than on the work itself, you can be sure he’s vulnerable.

One can only wonder at the selection process the board went through to arrive at this choice. I can't imagine any qualification or metric indicating he would be in any way qualified for the job.

That's not necessarily an indictment of the person. I think I'm a pretty decent person (even if I do say so myself), but am simply not qualified for any managerial position, much less CEO; I would su-k at it... bigly. Why didn't the board ask themselves the most obvious questions: to what degree does he understand the business, the products, the work processes? how well does he understand the politics and psychology or running an effective organization? These are hard questions, but it's a hard job which requires a qualified person to do it (well).

It looks to me like a case of the "dog catching the car": now what? It doesn't seem he has a clear notion of how to improve the actual work processes of the corporation, so he is just latching on to whatever random shiny new fad that comes along.

A slick suit? I wish. I wouldn’t trust the guy to run a sleazy used car dealership.

@aj Maybe the CEO rating is averaging down from Aart's tenure as CEO.

Ge-z that approval rating is dropping faster than the stock price!

56% approval? Come on... can't believe it is that high.
Dude just has no credibility whatsoever.
How many highlevel managers under him?
How many of those believe in him and trust his capabilities?
You do the math.

Not that I felt like a close buddy to Ajei, but when he spoke it felt like he understood what we at the bottom did. His approval rating was 85%, under current management with 56% I understand that that number actually meant something...

with a 56% CEO approval rating on Glassdoor, I encourage everyone to leave their review and make it go lower. For reference, Anirudh's approval rating at Cadence is 85%.
