Post layoff, how much are you paying for healthcare in NC

I’m not afraid of a layoff but I’m in my late 40’s and worried about the future cost of healthcare if I don’t find a new role before COBRA runs out. Could anyone paying for healthcare in NC share their monthly premium and deductible? Just trying to feel prepared.

@OP - any numbers posted here aren't relevant. insurance cost will depend on your age, health status, etc. you should shop it yourself - it's not that hard. just google "health insurance north carolina" and you'll figure it out pretty quickly

Call Via Benefits. # is in the layoff paperwork or can be found on teamworks. This team supports all ex Wells employees. They can steer you to plans and costs. Their help has been invaluable to me.

Do a search for "christian health care insurance", that may tide you over till you find something new. Worst case, go without (no penalty) and sign up for Obama-Don't-Care when you need it.

Once severance ends pass on Cobra it’s more expensive than Obamacare .

If you hit deductible finish year but once new year starts Obamacare is way to go . You can cancel Cobra at anytime you do not have to wait 18 months

If you have no pre existing medical issues even private is cheaper than Well Healthcare

Begin daily exercise while you are still employed
Eat healthy
Health Insurance no longer necessary when employment runs out
