For the rtms already in this role around the country, how much merchandising are you guys actually doing? Are any territories fully staffed with merchandisers? Are your merchandisers selling in when you are off doing the rms responsibilities?

20 plus stores, 4 full timers, 50-60 hours per week, plus Coaching, meetings conference call, training covering call outs, vacations etc..
You will never be fully staffed. The quitting and calls offs never stop. Enjoy those 60 hours weeks.
I work about 60 hours a week. Merchandising about 40-45 hours a week.
I am very understaffed though. I've worked every weekend pretty much since it's started covering my gaps

I have 24 stores now only one segment one though.
@er 4 merchandisers?, how many stores...i have like 2 and one is borrowed, and 19 stores....
I haven't been fully staffed in 3 years .... Damn near impossible to keep people around.
@en Most likely your situation is not the typical situation. Most routes are not fully staffed, most merches are not invested, and will not sell in displays. Everyone I know has routes so big they have more than 4 merchandisers. Then what?
I typically merch a couple stores per week to help out when we have bigger deliveries. I’m pretty well staffed though. I have one really good merchandiser that will get us extra displays. The other two just put up what’s scripted. It’s really pretty easy once you get staffed. My merchandisers always think they’re in trouble when I have to coach them though. They make us do two a week but I only have four merchandisers so I have to coach each of them overy other week.
@av I agree. More bad than good but I agree there are good ones

Don’t pin that label on every merchandiser. That is ignorance.
Most of the merchandisers don't even merchandise how you gonna get them to sell?
