Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

FDE (Forward Deployment Engineer)

Hi, I saw a previous post mentioning that Cognizant's FDE role is intended to automate production delivery tasks.

At FIS, there are now internal FDE openings, and some employees are being "encouraged" to apply. You might wonder why I'm asking this here, but I'm interested in how others view the situation.
If the responsibilities of the FDE role are changing significantly and you decide not to apply for the FDE position, choosing instead to stay in your current role, do you think that could make you more vulnerable (immediate target candidate) during future layoffs? Or would you simply stay put and accept that risk?
I'm looking for opinions.

@a7 build back morale and trust? Two of the most fragile things to cultivate at any business. FIS has carpet bombed their reputation with employees and expect that a flexible Friday will fix it. Not only that, but they will continue, if you look realistically at their pattern of behavior.

I guess FIS HR/TPO is actively watching this site and posting messages.

Don't expect flexible Friday to work too increase morale. Many FIS employees take full advantage of flexible Friday before they even announced it.

I know they let go people who have worked at FIS for years in the same role including managers. There is no logic or reason. Senior leadership (not executive level ) are completely baffled by the rebadging still and are completely in the dark to what’s actually going on. If you take a position with FIS I wouldn’t expect career. Use it for resume fodder. That’s why Flex Fridays is happening they are trying to build back morale and trust cause they see what they created but many just see it as too little too late.
