Thread regarding Cengage layoffs

ABSOLUTELY RESIGN!

I know you are feeling sad and tired. Exhausted from having to actually do work. It’s okay, that’s what a resignation does. It helps eliminate the toxic waste in a company and allows you to go to other publishers and su-k the life out of them. If you can’t make your numbers, resign. If the pressure is just too much, resign. If you’re just plain old incompetent, resign. Resigning is good for everyone - you don’t even need a new job, resign so you can use your full set of high quality skills and apply them to landing your next sale - making your future employer believe that you can deliver. Happy resigning!

@k0 you are nothing but a boot licking f—k. Must be an incompetent manager or wannabe in SGS role.

@j2 sure you are - that’s why you continue to troll this site. Must be bliss for you at your new job having so much free time to come back here and post useless comments.

Honestly I’m happier gone after the last round of layoffs. No more busting my a-s for minimal raises.

I'm extremely skeptical an IPO is happening at all. I know we live in an age of meme stocks and vaporware, but what exactly makes this company attractive as a growth stock? We operate in an extremely mature market that is shrinking every year. We don't have any breakthrough technology other than jumping on the AI hype train like every single other company. What fund manager is going to look at our prospectus and want to load up on Cengage stock? It makes no sense.

However, if we do have an IPO its not going to get any better. Instead of private equity bros its going to be their buddies down the street in the investment banking houses putting relentless pressure on whoever the CEO is to get the stock price up. And the only way to do that at Cengage is to cut costs.

You can always try and hang in there! Lay low. do the minimum work… don’t work after 5pm. EVER.

The IPO will cause a whole other shift! MGT will be replaced. New MGT will probably do a huge reorg and put everything back like it was. The new leaders will probably raise salaries and provide company cars again. IPO IPO IPO. is coming even if MGT tries to downplay it.

@IPS - You are pretending to be someone you are not. IPS would never have posted this... Not the way they write. If you can't make your numbers... Its not about numbers and the real IPS would know this. One of the most successful, competent, and well liked District Manager (Tenn. DM) ever to work at Cengage was let go. And there are many high performing people that were let go over the past 16 months. (K12 Pres -ML ; General Manager-ER ; Chief People Officer - JH, Central VP - JM ... So Numbers, Pressure , competency has nothing to do with it. Get your facts together and report back to us. FULL STOP!!!

IPS - is probably MGT …. But i agree.! Yes you should most certainly resign, but try and negotiate a severance.. Get in your pickup truck and say bye - bye. Your salary doesn’t fit. the low standards they’ve created.

I'm happy to. Just as soon as you stop your incessant bootlicking.

Do let me know when you are capable.
