Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I spent 25 years at Dell and the early years were truly great. Always a tough environment, but good people, good work making great products and the business was growing. Now I’m at a competitor and I don’t know how, at its peak Dell ever lost business to this company and all of the cuts are absolutely helping us. It is such a bizarre self sabotage, maybe Wall Street likes the cuts but I think Dell could have just ki-led its biggest competitors it had just kept focusing on growth and improving its products.

People making policies , complains and merit decisions have never sold anything in their life. They are slave drives and please their master. It's a job which doesn't even pay bills now a days . Dell is just finding ways to keep money retained and ear interest

Before all the downsizing, I felt I got some form of the truth. Now, it's obvious that they are laying people off but there is no communication on the end state. In a normal world, people would be informed. There is no communication. You just have to live with musical chairs if you choose to stay.

Job went from a 9-10 to a solid 2 during the last 5 years or so.

Immediate leadership still good, above the sr. manager an absolute shithole. The funny thing is that I used to think having a director that didn't do anything at all was bad, turns out an id--t with ambition is even worse.

Just keep my head down and do what im there for. Anything management touches or has a hand in is always negative. Been that way since EMC was taken over

Job 4
Leadership 2 but thinks its an 8
Company 4 but thinks it's a 9

Dell was by far the worst company i've worked at. You take an 90s company HQ in probably the least innovative city in America that takes pride in shortcuts and shaving pennies.

You import the 3rd world you get the 3rd world.

The leadership at Dell, especially in ISG, is the absolute worst you will find anywhere in the industry. These clowns are duummb as a bag of rocks.

Several years ago I’d give both 10’s. I loved my boss and the management chain. Today is a cesspool of incompetent, political, mo--ns who have their nose so far up their managers a-s their eye ba--s are their managers ni-ples.

I do not work at Dell. I work at Northrop Grumman. Thats where its at....with the surge in munitions, its insanely busy. I mean...they run two shifts in manufacturing each weekend and still cannot keep up with the work.

Sorry but war is good for some.

Dell doesn't care. None of the companies care.

Getting feedback from your employees will not prompt change. They just want to take employee temperature. In their eyes, it's good to know but they do nothing with it other than make a change when they already were going to make a change in that area in the first place.
