Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Layoffs coming or just the rumor mill?

Annual mass re-org/layoffs rumors actually have any traction or are we jumping the g-n?

Seeing a few folks from Innovation on LinkedIn, some fired and some volun-left… Innovation has a talent leak

@ny Corporate buzzwords come and go. Funny how "ownership" always gets assigned to the people already carrying the team.

Gotta say goodbye to some teammates. Just know we appreciate their service and are treating with with the utmost respect and dignity. Now back to work

@e5 Maybe we should spend less energy debating ‘quiet firing’ and more energy discussing ‘quiet coasting’—when people contribute the bare minimum while their teammates quietly absorb the extra work.

@e5 Employees don't fear bad news nearly as much as they fear dishonest leadership.

Some millennial must have gotten a leg up in HR by sharing the idea of “quiet quitting” and turning it into “quiet firing” based on some actions on campus.

Will be before next quarterly earnings. It's the right time window between new leadership coming in and laying the plans for restructuring. This is 100% happening just a matter of when exactly.

I've also heard September for corporate functions and tangent work I am supporting points to changes happening in September as well. I highly recommend brushing up your resumes now and getting ahead of this. I had another role lined up the last time we had major restructuring and it took the stress off for me. My number wasn't called, so I didn't take it, but having other options ready to go completely erased the anxiety many of my peers were experiencing.

Yes - it’s happening! Most of the tech is going to ITC. Hundreds of openings in ITC and almost none in PHK.

I see a lot of wise people jumping the ship with better opportunities before it’s too late and some of them are being managed OUT by their leaders tactically to cut down on severance until next round of layoffs.

We were notified of being layed off on April 27th. Our last official day was July 9th. We didn't work during that time, but were still officially employed by Nike and collecting a every two week paycheck until that day.
