The entire company with few exceptions will break out in thunderous celebration when the man leaves which doesn’t seem to be anytime soon. His performance isn’t an indicator of his longevity.

Are you really that dim? The OP explained that the event was a "rah rah" session for the TDPs to encourage them to stay. Stank basically told them to F-kOff with their opinions on what they expect from work. That is certainly not the way to convince someone to stay. Of course, this is further evidence of why almost 100% of the TDPs from the previous group have left the company.
