Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Relocating

Hard Pill to swallow but due to no job offer and single salary, my hand is forced. See you all on the commute. Might get used to the 2 hour daily commute in a Tesla.

Dude…if this isn’t a troll post….most folks who relocated (and there are thousands - almost every 4th/5th person you meet relocated in the last 1-2yrs) are absolutely fine. Unfortunately comparatively few got surplused for not very clear reasons. And many more hub folks were hit in this & last round (also unfortunate) compared to previous rounds where they were targeting non hub locations primarily. Regardless, about 30% of us are walking around with a target on our backs. It’s life at T now.

Bummer. I work in Southfield Michigan. Expected a follow the work letter. But we just got word the company signed a 20 year lease for a new building and we are moving there in the next year. Sorry haters.

Your family will hate you for moving to Texas. Don’t let this job cost you your personal life.

Do yourself a favor, start your own business.
Spend the few hundred 💵 to create a business entity. Or go shop the local consulting shops and tell them you want 1099 work.
Or do anything that you're good at for 💰
But don't relocate for ungrateful T.

Texas is so stupid. Not everyone wants to drive 100 miles daily. They should have better schools close to downtown or a better train track reaching suburbs.

Should have taken the severance. Don’t worry, they’ll give you another chance within 12 months or less, except you’ll be in Dallas this time. You should have taken the hint.

Don’t worry about that 2 hour commute. Since you didn’t take the bait in the first round, HR will get you with the second round…

Can’t wait for the post here in 6 months, “I moved and was just laid off…” just like many others have already warned you about.

If the company cared about retaining you then you would be compensated for your relocation. Don’t be a fool.
