Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

It’s been a year

It’s been a year since Shell declared they were not going to make an offer on bp. And there have been almost no speculation about mergers or takeovers since then. This place must be so unappealing to the rest of the industry. Someone please just step up and do what need be done.

@b6 BP culture is toxic. Typically in a takeover the target company’s leadership is jettisoned and most other mid-level management goes too. Frontline employees would welcome a new culture with open arms.

Shell will await UK government formation and direction. Shell hates Ed Miliband and will await Labor Party direction. Very possible that Shell has new domicile in the USA in 2027/28. BP has some aligned assets but the BP culture is viewed as toxic by Shell

Shell CEO is risk averse and his only talent is buying Shell stock and greasing his hair.

KD will be doing witchcraft to really get back for the embarrassing situation they put the minister of culture in…expect some pretty incredible stuff.

BP named a field related to Colombian magic named Macondo
BP layed off a the minister of people and culture named Kerri Dryburgh..a very effective witch (full respect) now the protective envelope she had is gone…expect things to get worse

No one…that’s no operator with a functioning geophysical team and rational management wants any part of Kaskida or other GoA non ops. It’s a 10 billion dollar albatross that is a no go. bHP and now Woodside were offered a chance to become a WI partner…response was HE-L F’ing NO WAY. Even partially carried or with inducements …
Elliot has asked for simplicity and got a GB process nightmare investment.
