Does anyone have any word on EFCC layoffs? I heard they onboarded more contractors who are remote, but threaten to layoff existing remote… make it make sense.

@cb, I get that they don’t get benefits. The question stands if the whole strategy around hubs is collaboration, why hire other remote people yet try and can the ones you have. I can imagine these third party contracts are cheap. I know several remote employees and I can tell you I collaborate with them more via teams video calls then people in my own location.
@cq I'm cn. The same amount of individual agency required to do the things I mentioned will strengthen the muscles for surviving/thriving as the old systems fail.
I suspect we agree that no one is coming to save anyone. Everyone has to self-rescue, and start with actions that reduce dependence on other people, employers, etc.
@cn I used to think this way and what you say makes sense up to a certain point. But we need only to look at the manufacturing industry to understand that large corporations will offshore 99% of the jobs to cheaper labor countries and retain just executives and senior management here. No amount of upskilling and LBYM would help in that scenario.
We're in the post-loyalty era, at least as far as employment. Build your own brand, always be learning new skills, maintain your network via periodic check-ins, and live below your means while saving for periods of unemployment.
@OP Because these contractors are not U.S. Bank employees and are instead hired through another firm, the Bank is not required to provide them with benefits.
