@e2 Should I send you the letter I received from the UE office? How can you say something isn't true when it actually happened and is true? Perhaps different states have different rules.
a7+1kxjv6g6n, not true. Same exact thing happened to me a few years back and I was eligible for unemployment.
OP, I filed for UE after the payments were made. I think one of the questions UE asks is if you're still collecting any form of payments or severance. I definitely filed after all payments were done and you are most eligible for unemployment.

Failed PIP may be considered as good as firing , in such cases not sure if you are eligible for UE benefits however, file around August 1st .
That's still considered severance money even though it's only 30 days pay.
@av got paid for 30 days after they told me to pi-s off. so 30 days pay, thats it.

Important question to the OP - did you get severance or was it denied due to the pip?
@an Nope. Your severance is based on pay per weeks of employment. Can't file until those "weeks" you get paid for have ended. In my case, 32 weeks. So, January of next year. Stated very clearly in my findings from state UE.

You were Not ineligible because you got severance.
After you receive your severance, you're eligible for UE benefits.
Assume you received your severance on July 31.
You can file for UE on August 1, assuming you're Still unemployed on August 1.
@ae How do you know you are eligible until you file? Part of the filing process is the state's unemployment office validating your eligibility. I was RIF'd and determined ineligible because of my severance. In any event, file immediately. The process is slow.

OP needs to file for unemployment asap. As long as the employer does Not contest or object to the unemployment filing, the OP can collect UE benefits.
Most likely, the employers do Not contest the Unemployment filings because of possible lawsuits and bad PR.
You won't be eligible for unemployment if you were fired.
