Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Bare minimum

If I survive another round of layoffs rest assured I will be doing the bare minimum as I have been for months. I will be expect nothing more from my teams. This company is trash and are crazy if they think I will give more than 30% and that is on a good day. I am here buying my time, cashing a check and enjoying the benefits. F Verizon !

@c3

If senior "leadership" gave 100% to the employee experience, you might have a point.

Oppositional relationships are a two-way street.

How do you find time to do any of that, alongside your incessant bootlicking?

@a2 if everyone gave 100% maybe the company wouldn’t be in a downward spiral. I agree some bad decisions have been made at the top. Low performers cause the company to due poorly. I’ve seen it time and time again. Bad sales results, poor budget management, missing deadlines. Multiply that across different BU’s and it’s a virus. At least I know if I get laid off there is nothing that I could have done differently.

@bx Do you want them to give you a hug every day? It’s a job, go to work, make some friends go home and get paid.

I would gladly give 100% to a company that actually carded or valued me. That is not Verizon. We are all just a number and will be terminated as soon as they need to cut costs. So with that being said. F the V !

@OP so you wonder why there is so much deadweight when people “ give 30%”

I did 10 times more work than a co-worker and still get a 3. I am doing 10 times less now to average it out.

@a1

What else do you expect, when performance and rewards have been deliberately decoupled?

Now get your co workers to get onboard. You don’t have to be a union employee to be unified. Thats Verizon’s biggest fear. Employees that stick together

@a1 Let’s see how you like giving 100 percent for years and still being let go. I know which one I am picking. Produce as little work as possible.

Cr-p attitude if you're in sales. How hard you work dictates your pay

@a1 wrong. Riffs like this happen to save money. They do not care if you give 30 or 100 percent. Your will end up on a list at some point.

@a1 Because if I give 100 percent we still get laid off. Duh ? See how that works there. I have seen some of the best brightest hardest working people on my team be let go. Now I am surrounded by dead weight so why not join em. If you or Verizon think that people will actually work hard or give a cr-p about what happens to this company you are both delusional.

@OP your mindset is exactly why rif’s like this happen. Why would Verizon want to keep someone like you around? Would you like to be paid 30% of your salary for putting in 30% effort?
