I have been with the company since some time where I qualified for pension. Naturally T just contributed bare minimum to it since the last 10 years. I was also a high performer through out and naturally salary went up. Now with all this surplus stuff I got a target on my back for not being in hub, working hard and delivering here. Should I have just slacked and did the bare minimum? I never understood why I am being surplussed except not being in hub

How would you know? The OP said he has been around for a long time so he must be doing something right and have a decent performance right? If not his Management is really ineffective.
If you are that good, you should be able to find another job. Why you are still here?
@d3 That goes for the CEO position as well. Never has a CEO performed so poorly and rewarded so handsomely. If we were all rewarded based on his performance the company would be bankrupt, which might happen anyway with Stank.

T doesn't really care anymore about effort. The company wants to consolidate locations, while at the same time automate everything they can. This is the goal to prosperity for att.
