Did they also tell you to "do the needful"? It sounds like Indian English. It's not an American dialect of English that is pervasive in American culture.

"Cribbing" in Indian slang. It's like ebonics, only used by people of that particular culture.
Funny how, after more than a decade at this company, the only time I've ever been railroaded with a completely fabricated PIP was under Indian managers in their 50s. The document was so obviously ghostwritten by their college-aged son or daughter, because the person claiming it as their own could barely speak or write English.
