I'm genuinely curious. If you hate your job so much, shouldn't you be trying to get out? I'm happy where I am, and I come here because I fear losing my job, not because I hate the company. The overwhelming hate I encounter here all the time is always shocking to me.

It’s because the job market is terrible and we can’t leave if we want to. Managers are gaslighting us with forced stack ranking.They told us mandatory 22% does not meet. So they make up stuff to slam you so they can give you not meets and you have no recourse. Imagine dealing with lies everyday and then knowing that no matter what you do you will probably be laid off. Some of us can’t afford to lose our jobs. We’re drowning right now. Remember that song “don’t push me cuz I’m close to the edge I’m trying not to lose my head. Like a jungle some time makes me wonder how I keep from going under.” So yeah I’m angry. And so are a lot of people. Keep dangling the dollars in front of us and see how far you can push us. Not good. Real real bad.
@bt I could not agree with you more. Neither Wells Fargo nor any other publicly traded company owes anything to its employees. Employment at will is a legal doctrine allowing employers to fire workers at any time, for any or no reason, without advanced notice. Likewise, employees can quit whenever they want without legal penalty. The main responsibility of employers is to the shareholders to maximize their profits. All this other BS posted here is from an angry mob who cannot pick up children from the daycare in the middle of a workday or need to travel to the office for up to an hour. I have come across some of you during my tenure here - don't let the door hit you on your way out.
Are you even an employee of WF? Or, if you indeed are, is your home office in HY/WPB? Given your rhetorical question, these are the only two possibilities that come to mind.
People have expressed why they are mad at Wells for very justifiable reasons, but I want to respond specifically to the "shouldn't you be trying to get out?" part. First, you're making an assumption people aren't trying to find other employment at the same time they're venting on here. This is not a board where we talk about our job search, its a board where we talk about our current employer. And the job market is a godda-n nightmare right now. Blaming people for not leaving when they may very well not have much choice is first-class gaslighting.
@OP The anger stems from people allowing their employment to define them. They type with altruism but have no understanding of capitalism. They lack complete self-awareness. Thinking any business larger than a small, family run one will view any employee ultimately as anything other than a line item is a birth level mistake on that employees part.
Autonomous corporations cannot have empathy or sympathy. They can establish policies and procedures to provide benefits to the employee but at the end of the day the goal is to exist and make as much revenue as possible.

I post because this is fun. Most, like yourself, post from a position of insolence, anger, hatred, condescendance, arrogance, ingorance, narcissism or sarcasm. I definitely come here to the pokes and prods to see the foolish react.
Ok. I love my job and my manager and I feel like I’m paid fairly and treated well.
That said, I have a lot of relationships across multiple teams and I am fully aware that I’m very much in a minority of maybe 30ish percent of the bank. I certainly hope that it gets better for all of our sakes…..
Golly gee did the people say mean words on here after giving decades of their life to a company that threw them out like yesterday's garbage? I can't possibly understand why. Maybe you should tell Charlie to let them eat cake during the next board meeting, that'll go over well.
Feeling never ending fear is plenty of reason to hate Wells Fargo. I guess you just haven't put 2 and 2 together yet?
It's not a healthy work culture. Even the few who managed to get exceeds will have a new bar to clear this year.
there seems to be a great volume of unhappiness at the slow burn they do on folks, the manipulation and the overall toxicity of the workplace. the company is on a very bad trajectory.

A normal person will get angry about unfair despicable manipulative sometime illegal company practice.
The lack of job stability here is a choice. If the workforce had to shrink, there were other options available to management like buyouts or time-limited mass layoffs, the typical "year of efficiency" approach other corporations use. The path our leaders have chosen seems deliberately cruel, robbing employees of job security for the better part of a decade of their working lives, and implementing ratcheting monitoring seemingly chosen with express intention of making working conditions here materially worse in the name of attrition. People don't like working for sociopaths who give every outward appearance of hating their employees, is that really hard to understand?
@OP you have a healthier attitude than most posters here. You do did to fond a place where you arent afraid you will lose your job. But the longer you stay on these boards the more hate you will see. If you cannot leave WF leave these boards
Because a lot of us have been at WF long enough to watch it transform from a great place to work with great culture into a toxic, poorly run, inefficient sh-t show. Roles that Americans thrived in are being offshored to save a few fu--s and now we have friends who are unemployed. It brings out some anger.

I am here to rack up paychecks, do very little work, waste corporate resources, and carry a generally unapproachable demeanor.
I'm happy to leave, just as soon as an acceptable severance offer arrives. Until then, try to manage your shock, bootlicker.
There's so much hate here because WF leadership keeps changing the rules opaquely so that people who received consistently meets ratings for years are suddenly receiving inconsistently meets while the company concocts reasons to fire people so they don't have to provide severance pay. There's so much hate because WF pretended to be a decent company while they were under close federal supervision but went right back to their old shenanigans the moment the consent orders were lifted. There's so much hate because people are getting let go and then seeing offers from temp agencies for the jobs they just lost for $10 pr $12 less per hour. There's so much hate here because blind, a-s-kissing obedience is the only valued trait and straight-up nincompoops are getting promoted to leadership positions while smart, hard-working employees get sh-t upon. There's so much hate here because WF is leaving the states that have actual corporate oversight and moving their operations to backwards-assed cr--ker states where the governors and legislatures allow multinational corporations to get away with mu---r. There's so much hate here because WF has a long, well-documented history of ripping of customers and punishing employees who blow the whistle. Shall I continue?
6 years of watching people, that you KNOW didn’t deserve it, being treated unfairly to reduce headcount will make you miserable. Even if you aren’t a target and like what you do.
The lizard people running this place not only enjoy firing thousands of Americans, they routinely lie about it and the strategies used to make it happen. In shocking news, people don't like liars that fire all their friends and associates.
If you hate "hate," no one is forcing you to read these posts. People are genuinely scared and angry on how potential layoffs are disrupting their lives.
