@ke I don't recall any R.N. who lost their job but the head of HR at the time was Ezra Singer. He was succeeded in late 2003/early 2004 by Marc Reed. Curious now who you are referring to.
Whoever wrote that clearly wasn't there in 2003 when people came to work the following Monday after the Great Exodus, and found out entire departments were just gone. There were NO restrictions placed on who could accept the offer, and no one in HR bothered to see exactly who was leaving. Cost the orchestrator (R.N.) of that disaster her job. And it took a while to pull out of that mess internally... but to the outside world, little changed & no one noticed. Of course those were back in the days of 200k employees... not 100k. They've RIF'd every single year since then, whether anyone noticed or not... EVERY year. They have never stopped cutting, they just usually do it with smaller cuts, throughout the year.

I mean 6 six ago you could make any prediction that may have come true lol. I don’t it hard to believe that anyone currently here now or was recently part of a RIFF is looking back at this article and saying “I should have listened to this article in 2018 and not got another six years of working here”. It also goes against what everything g is saying currently on the boards, per that article 6 years ago, all the top talent left then and were left with cheaper employees who can’t do the job as knowledge or effectively. Kind of a slap in the face of people currently impacted
I almost took this in 2018. I am glad I did not because my VSP offer then was about $48K. I left in 2024 with just under $200K. It was most certainly worth the wait to stay the additional 6 years. But, glad to be out now.
