Why would ordinary people anywhere in the world not root for Wisconsin? If AI push wakes people up to the massive resource-draining and harmful infrastructure ramp up, then why not? Most telecom used the c-v-d to push 5g equipment on every block. Now you have fl-ck cams everywhere like LE wants.

@ax I almost blew my coffee through my nose laughing when I saw that, trying to call data centers an "investment in Wisconsin". Yeah, their investment in Wisconsin, not that it benefits WISCONSIN at all - 'cause it doesn't - it's THEIR investment that's located in Wisconsin. No loss to the state or the people.
Good, they can take their investment somewhere else.
@ax possible but not likely, the people of Wisconsin are against data centers consuming farm land, consuming water, and driving energy costs up. Wisconsin got burned bad by a FoxConn deal about 10 years ago. The state and counties paid up front for infrastructure improvements for 1000s of job that never materialized. $7B would recover a lot of those lost funds.
Oracle asked a county judge to strike down the rule last month and allow We Energies to waive the requirement, saying the rules risk "imposing these onerous financing costs upon Oracle and potentially discouraging future investment in Wisconsin".
No worries here. The state will likely, eventually cave to megacorp after some promises, winks, and nods.
