This is a hysterical take on what she said. You literally listened to the call and thought, wow remote jobs are safe, secure, respected, and up for promotion? Thank you for making my day, this post literally made me LOL.
@aj sorry to hear about the layoff, what part of RM&C. Was it just remote in your Org or were hybrid impacted as well?
@ab SAME my position was fully remote PRE pandemic. and was sold as a fully remote position, but ive been asked to RTO since inception.. sooooooo tell me how that makes sense?
Grandfathered my tail! I was a part of the RMC layoffs last week and I’m remote. I was hired remote and I’m around 600 miles from the nearest HUB. If there was an office close I would gladly go in! The MC loves to gaslight the employees.
I am 10+ years remote with no hub or branch in my state. I am the only person in the entire company that does the work that I do.
Being grandfathered in is all well and good, but does that mean that we get our geo location and salary increases back as well??
GK stated soft layoffs EVERY quarter. Funny its been remote employees- Then also stated that should consider transitioning to hybrid for their long term employment considerations. Well guess what there is no location hub for me, not even anywhere close... half of the team was already let go leaving two employees left in the Mortgage sector in our location.
Also, while you all state no layoff for remote haahah GET REAL the layoffs that just happened in MTG last month where all REMOTE!!
This is definitely a question to bring up on JR’s “Ask me anything” call next week, as JR specifically said on her town hall recently remote does not align with our business model and to expect layoffs for remote employees this year, while GK is saying they are grandfathered in.
So if you aren’t laid off, you are stuck with no chance for promotion. I hate this place. At this point, I’d rather by laid off.

@OP Except it's a blatant lie. I'm a pre-covid remote employee and now I get to sit in traffic for hours for the privilege of working "remote" from a data center far from my actual team. It's a struggle to keep productivity from plummeting compared to prior years.
I also know MANY other remote employees who were laid off when others on their team were not. While they may not have a company-wide plan to axe 100% of remote, it's clear they're treating it just like the other layoffs; continuing to boil the frog until things are as they like it while claiming nothing "large-scale."
