Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is there a way to avoid being laid off?

Or at least a way to minimize your chances of being included - other than kissing the right behinds?

Simply "doing your job well" doesn't cut it anymore. You have to make sure that you have the right checkmarks next to your name. Many of these checkmarks involve self-identification of DE&I criteria. We all know what they are.

Join all 10 team member cults and add pronouns to your email. Assign yourself 3-5 disabilities in workday. You’re welcome.

Work in an area that generates revenue. If you work internally then you’re overhead. Obviously we need internal roles, but when the economy crashes you look at what consistently generates solid revenue with lower charge-offs.

Do your job. Do it well. Act like a professional. Stop whining and acting as if you are entitled to a trophy and bonus for just showing up. Appreciate the fact you have a job and realize you and anyone else can be let go at any time for any reason with any employer. stop making it so d@mn easy to replace you: Just saying.

Based on my experience, random distribution.

But they spare the FMLA abusers every single time.

They don’t pick, at-least not meaningfully. Cuts come down as % or a total #. Ie: ring ring “hello?” “Mgr Schmoe, Shart here, I’m gonna need you to cut 10%\2 bodies. Give me a pool of 5”. Manager sends up a pool, how far up it goes before the call is made who knows. And you had better believe if the reduction doesn’t hit the $ value it will be “reassessed “.

For those that say people a few levels up pick who is laid off, how do they chose people to lay off they don’t know?

Depends on the role. In some performing well and/or kissing A might help. In others it won't make a dang bit of difference. Someone 4 levels up is gonna pick your name based on little to nothing and that'll be it.

No. Someone somewhere will run a excel spreadsheet formula and a list will be generated.
