Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Nah. They'll have to lay me off with severance. Unless I find a better paying job (nothing close in this job market with almost 15 years at the bank) I will never give them the satisfaction. I've been extremely high performing the whole time and for me RTO hasn't been a big deal but it's been awful watching so many people I've worked with for years in more complicated personal situations struggling with it. So stupid and needless.

Walk where? No one in the job market is embracing American employees with open arms, read the room.

You don’t need to announce your departure as this is not an airport. Bye.

@b6 Totally sensible. My issue isn't with RTO being something the Bank wants, its BLANKET RTO. I genuinely like my team and really wouldn't mind more face time with them. Problem is, they're all in a different time zone; I've nobody here where I got randomly plopped by this nonsense. No, I'm not willing to give up my <3% mortgage that's half paid already to move when rates are higher than they've ever been in the 21st century either. Let's just say I'm not getting paid the f*** you money some people have to buy Lambos.

Currently leaving for another company that is also RTO. Main difference to me is they treat people like human beings. I will have an assigned desk. I will see coworkers and my manager in person every week. We’ll be in the office on the same days, 3 days a week. None of this haphazard 60% bullsh-t.

I totally and completely support people who are more productive remotely and want that for their lives. But even for people like me who don’t mind being in the office, this RTO policy is ridiculous, pointless, sloppily implemented, and one of the main reasons that I’m leaving.
