Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Toxic Manager

recently got a very toxic manager—an Indian guy. He has serious trust issues and creates a highly toxic work environment. I’ve had Exceeds Expectations ratings for the last five years. Should I continue here or start looking for opportunities outside?

Doesn’t hurt to look. It will make you feel better that you’re doing something to better your situation.

@e0 I would like to propose the name "O2 Team" to send each and every one to GCC. They are Actual Indian (AI) experts who can handle their work perfectly in GCC. None should be kept in CO or Texas. Their place should be Hyderabad. They are real AI (Actual Indian) politics experts.

If you find a person with multiple master's degrees, do not assume they are intelligent. They are likely manipulating the visa system. This is why the US is implementing a hard stop of four years. Any Schwab employee who is Indian and has a double master's degree should be understood by default to be gaming the F1 visa system. Investigate thoroughly

There are basically three types of Indian people you meet in the tech workplace:

Those who are technically smart

Those who pretend to be but are not

Those who are neither and came using fake credentials and got their job through connections

Do the following things:

A) Search them through Google by name and see their bio
B) If they have BA, MA or other non-tech STEM degrees, they might be fake guys who survive through connections and destroy others
C) You can give an anonymous tip to DOL (Department of Labor). You get the LCA by searching on sites like H1B info. If it's an H1B, there's a high chance you can find them using area zip code, month they joined and position
D) Share those details with employee ID to DOL with an anonymous tip. Just do snail mail and put snail every week for 3 months

This Indian manager is very toxic. There was one H1B person who used to work for this toxic person. This India manager was fighting for EB1C. The team, I don't remember it, fools team if my memory recollects.
He started bad mouthing that person around. He himself was a non-STEM guy. If you give him work, his mouth will work but no actual work will be done. Working person was thrown out of the Schwab project. but manager a useless f*cker who still survives. This is related to the contractor side, it was Emphasis or Infy, I don't remember the exact contractor but they are highly toxic backstabbers.

The biggest fraud is EB1C. The US government should tax this visa $500K retroactively. This international manager visa should be banned.

Don't run away. Just make sure his name becomes so visible he's forced to leave and get packing to India without a second thought. Working with an Indian manager is just like living in he-l, cleaning the sin so we have good life later.

Write a complete blog on Reddit and leave it with name and title in Schwab and place so everyone knows that name and shame is the only solution for these people.

Put the team name, location so every one can makeout who are this snakes

Yes they are absolutely toxic and these managers are in a process of digging their own graves. They want subordinates leave and they will replace them with people from India with cheaper cost. And finally one day they will figure out there is nobody for them to manage and would be laid off. They don’t have any skill to find another job in the market.

You should always be looking outside Schwab, regardless of if you have a good manager or not. Jobs in the US will dwindle fast, as the GCC in India will ramp up, and AI will take over.

Run don’t walk. HR didn’t help, and neither did leadership. Once I realized the culture wasn’t going to change, the best decision I made was to start looking elsewhere. The environment had become so exclusionary and driven by an entrenched in-group that succeeding on equal footing no longer felt possible if you weren’t part of that circle. No job is worth constantly feeling like you’re on the outside looking in. The good news is this isn’t how every company operates. Don’t let one toxic workplace convince you that’s just how the industry is. There are organizations where you’ll be valued for your contributions rather than your proximity to the right group.

Sounds like my situation. You should look but there aren't many jobs in tech if you aren't indian. I'm personally planning on quitting and moving to a cheaper place where I can live off my assets and get an easier job outside of tech. If you can get another job in tech then more power to you.
