When I got the notice, I thought my career was over. Instead, it was the push I needed. I found a role with actual work-life balance, a team that respects me, and no daily dread. And I'm not alone, I keep a running list of ex-colleagues who've moved on and thrived. Not one of them regrets being let go. It's a strange comfort knowing that getting cut might be the best thing that ever happens to me.

@ab vbo is better! I rode that wave out the door in 2021. Feel sorry for my colleagues who weren't quite ready for whatever reason to take it.
Same. My experience is that people with long tenures are really toxic there who have figured out the politics and thrive on making others look bad. These are mediocre folks with no real talent and wouldn’t find anything good outside, so instead they keep playing the game. I am so glad to be outside and feel like this was the change I needed. It feels so refreshing to be liked and respected by your team and find that right work life balance.
