Anthem -> Carelon b/c that’s where the growth was supposed to be. Now nothing but infighting is going on at Carelon - I can’t get a straight answer on what to do and it looks like everyone is moving back to Anthem? I wonder if my old boss will take me back? Of wait, she was RIFd :(

@e1 Agree. No matter how high up the food chain and no matter how educated, no matter how refined and intellectual, people cannot escape their own human nature.
Those qualities when an innocent infant turns into a toddler and develops new abilities of coveting toys, learning to manipulate, be prideful with a desire to be "king of the hill," and stretch the truth, all carry into adulthood.
Not a matter of the brain but the heart.
@ag I think it comes down to egos. I’ve heard presidents and above from carelon say stuff like “what was elevance thinking when they set up this process” without taking time to understand the constraints that may have been in place that forced a flawed process. Then they go at the creator of the process and butt heads and create strained relationships at the highest level. Then that trickles down to the business units
Why is there beef with Carelon vs the non Carelon part? This is totally genuine... I literally do not know. There's been all kinds of allusions about how there are different sides and you don't want to be on the wrong one if you know what's right for you etc. I find it very confusing and difficult to navigate. I have been working to try to make some inroads between the two at least within my specific work function and it is like being lost in a hall of funhouse mirrors. If I was an investor or board member who had put serious money on the line in investments to the company certainly I would expect and demand that the structures within it work together rather than against one another burning my investments on internal friction. But I'm wrong. I don't understand something. The cross purposes and non-cooperation is if not encouraged at least expected and tolerated. I wouldn't even be stressed out over it if I just understood slightly what it was about so-as to know how to act myself to work with or around the dynamic. It's really baffling.
