Indians are simply better than you lot.
The same thing happened to me and I used that redundancy money for a lot of house upgrades, went on trip and rest in savings! Oh - and working in a non-toxic, non-dysfunctional atmosphere really lifts my spirits. It is nice to know everyone is working for the benefit of the company and not promoting their own self-interest or playing political games.
Do a few months in the new role before you start celebrating.
