Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Exceeds expecatations - 1 percent increment to a lowely paid average employee.

Help me understand how Saving that 1K, over a year will help Nike!!! , (Savings - over not giving that 2 percent average increment).

I worked my a-s off the past year after the last reorg and all I get was a puny 1%. This place is a joke.

This same thing happened to me. I didn't even get a raise, I got a 1 percent lump sum payout that doesn't change my salary. I got exceeds expectations this year but didn't get a rise due to being "above the salary range for my position". However that's only the case because I've never once been promoted in my many years here. So mad :(

@bv Congrats. You’ve turned luck into a personality trait, bitterness into an identity, and mediocrity into something you’re oddly proud of. The f-bombs are just the free bonus

@bq not looking for sympathy. I’m at the lowest grade fwiw. Just thought I’d add my circumstance to the thread as a data point. It seems not getting a reasonable cost of living increase is a more widespread experience than I realized. I am happy to be employed at all these days. It’s rough out there.

@bn Dude dropping f bombs and insults and then suddenly wants to act like it’s debate team.

Tomorrow EH gonna make $139,000 and not care how hard you work.

And WHEN you get laid off, you’ll get the same 15 minute meeting as the underachievers.

And tomorrow I’m gonna get paid the same or more than you while not working as hard. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

@bd “If the company had any interest in performance, dead weight like you would’ve been jettisoned already” … In fact, one of the reasons those underperformers stick around is that many managers don’t want to lose headcount, so they keep their teams as large as possible

Maybe to compensate for the sh---y raises, we should all do OnlyF-ns on the side just like our other colleagues

@b3 sounds like your doing “salary above my pay grade” just fine.. so I’m a little perplexed why you are looking for sympathy here.

Get a princely 1% hike for exceeding expectations while my manager gets promoted twice in 2 years.

@bm Thanks for the thoughtful, evidence-based rebuttal. You’ve completely changed my mind. 🤣🤣🤣

@bh Fascinating philosophy: “The system is flawed, therefore I’ll contribute as little as humanly possible.” That’s not some grand act of rebellion, it’s just outsourcing your workload to the people unfortunate enough to share a team with you. Congratulations on confusing apathy with wisdom you fu--ing a--hole.

@bd Maybe after years of layoffs and s h I t t y raises @b8 is done being a chump. If @b8’s teammates haven’t figured out that the ratings, goal setting, etc are all bull s h i t, that’s their problem.

Meanwhile you’ll be freebasing kool aid and giving it your all right up until the day you’re laid off.

@b8 Congratulations. You’ve mastered the art of contributing as little as humanly possible while expecting everyone else to carry you. Lazy fu--s like you are why Nike keeps sinking into mediocrity. Somewhere on your team there’s probably someone doing the work of two people just to compensate for your existence. If the company had any interest in performance, dead weight like you would’ve been jettisoned already.

Nike internal pay team is clearly a joke and it’s been going on for too long. You want to see overpaid, start there!

@aa I have been doing bare minimum for the last few years enough to meet expectations. My raises have been on par with peers who got higher ratings. The only additional thing they got was a pat on the back.

Pay cut here. Didn’t even get the 1% and due to my salary being above my grade, I’m getting a lump sum payout but it is less than last years.

Yep. Same here. Exceeds expectations in latest review but manager says I'm higher than pay range for my grade. So I'm going to be "rewarded" with bare minimum 2%.

As a manager ive seen exceeds get a 3% baseline raise and a meets get a 9% adjustment +3% raise

Even though the exceeds expectations had mamy more years of experience they were making less at the same level.

Best advice is to move on. Nike doesnt care about you or your career.

I meet expectations and got 1 percent too. Doesn’t matter how hard you work, you’ll get the same. We all just gotta do the bare minimum
