Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

RTO

Has anyone’s manager said anything to them about being in the office less than 4 days per week?

@cz Have you been paying attention? These people will not spare you for following their abitrary rules. Them axing WFH was a benefit cut. Im losing money now having to RTO with no difference in salary. People did a lot of things "back in the day" without complaining because there was no other option. Just like how people survived without air conditioning for 100s of years. To take away simply because they know employees enjoyed it is malicious. We even bragged as recent as end of 2022-start of 2023 about how much money we saved having the company be fully remote and how productivity was still great. These ghouls in charge will still find new and creative ways to get more of us to quit. If that doesnt work, they will do small chunks of layoffs to avoid WARN act. So, people are naturally going to find a way to get around these d-mb a-s policies made by people who hate us. It's not matter of if, but when they will make us go 5 days in office. Even if we all have perfect attendence, these creatures just lie and make up BS to justify their insane decisions.

@d5 They let wolves in the h-nhouse by putting untrustworthy persons with a conflicts of interest in charge of a vulnerable system where they exploited it for personal gain. These are terrible leaders and people that need systematically removed like cutting cancer out.

@db The have a dashboard of badge swipes now and if time of day the swipes were made are "early enough" for Suzie Mac's expectations.

So from my experience what ends up happening is they only send a report of those who aren’t meeting the avg days. When I was in MO and they did the 3 days a week my TL and I agreed to me coming in once a week since the language was it’s up to your leader. That worked until they decided to change the langue saying you must come in. At the end of the day of work gets done it gets done.

We are so focused on the wrong thing. You treat the St. Louis people so differently than you do the HBA's I know entire teams that don't do anything they're all checked out. I know several associates since ER that don't have any work to do but we're paying them full paychecks Just sitting at their home. It's crazy their leader their director their partner and associate relations have all been told everybody just turns Their heads. So we ignore an are okay with HBA's not working but I have to come in 4 days a week and if not I am in trouble. We are focused on the wrong thing get your priority straight

My TL mentioned something to me a few weeks ago, as I assume it was their leader or higher that said something... thing is, I have an accommodation in place that allows me as many days in or out of the office as I need although I still aim for at least 2 days a week in office. The covid years did a good job, through lengthy isolation, at allowing the anxiety issues that I've probably dealt with silently (and ineffectively) to manifest in some not so nice ways.

But... I can't wait for this RTO garbage to fall flat on its face and push firm leaders in to standing behind all the "new ways of working" promises they made in 2020-2022 just to reneg and make huge liars of themselves.

History will not judge PP, DC, HM, SM, et al kindly. If there's even an Edward Jones left in 10 years...

It is just like grade school one or two people in the class cause the entire class to loose recess. Get over yourselves and just go to work and work a full day in the office. Everyone could seem to do it before Covid with no problem or constant complaining. If you don’t like it go find a remote job somewhere if there are many full remote jobs left anywhere. If you keep trying to game the system there is going to badge swipes out and who knows what else. Then you will quit and leave the rest of us with more rules.

@b5 there are ways I imagine to know where your computer is connecting from.

@av there’s no data available for how much time a person is in the office. They can only track # of days. So what data is your area using to know if you are averaging 7 hours a day?

Has anyone been told how many hours to be in the office? I have heard that a lot of people are doing a 9-3 schedule and then finishing at home. Do leaders seem to care about that?

Yes, they have a report that tells them how many days you badged in per week. HC is probably monitoring this, and the next step is the recommended punishment if someone does not adhere to the guidance. My leader suggested I follow the guidance.
