Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Dear Pat

This is a question that is baffling me a bit since our last all hands.

I see that you believe in Gods path and call getting Intel back on track a "mission".

In that context, why did you not take a 75% cut in salary ? Or even 100% ?

Missionaries typically sacrifice for the greater good.

You have already earned enough in your lifetime. Last year you were amongst (or the) top paid CEO.

I think it was a mistake just to take 25% pay cut. If you had take 75%-100% pay cut it would have shown to each and every employee, that we are in this together and getting Intel back on track is truly a "noble and committed mission". It would have been easier for everyone to swallow their paycut if yours was astronomically larger than everyone else.

This was a lost opportunity for you to lead by example.

Sitting far away, I have been a fan of how you have come in and infused the energy in the company. I believe you can take Intel on the other side of this saddle.

But not taking 75%+ pay cut is so perplexing. I lost a bit of conviction for now in leadership.

Still blabbing on about “Constructive confrontation” and “Open and Direct”People don’t know the meaning anymore. Today they are just an excuse to act like a jerk and get away with it. P.S. stop starting sentences with “Oh by the way”. Or “So”. You look like wannabe hotshot BMW/Cadillac id--ts.

@ifna. Not sure where was the personal attack in original post.

If you are referring to mention of religious or spiritual side of Pat, he has been very open about this in every public avenue.

The post is just highlighting a missed opportunity by Pat.

@Op I find your post deeply offensive on several levels.

Intel has as core cultural element 'constructive confrontation', teaching it is ok to discuss and critique ideas but never make a personal attack. There is nothing more personal then one's faith and you have crossed the line badly.

If you think Pat's pay is too high and think he should have taken a bigger cut, why couldn't you form a rational argument without grounding it in a personal attack? You could have argued the pay is too high vs. market rates. You could have argued the pay is too high given results.. or whatever. But instead you heap hot coals on the head of the CEO.

I hope nobody or no god ever heaps hot coals onto your head.

The 25% is only to his base salary so yes it is a joke. The rest of us took a pay cut to help bump the stock back up a little.

Pat may be saving the "$1 pay" option for the Q1 (perhaps Q2) results announcement. Otherwise, the only further action available to him to show some responsibility would be heading out of the door.

Pat is a false prophet. Matthew 7:15 - his compensation and greed shows he is a ravenous wolf.

Before the "paycut" Pat should just cut his base pay to $1 and increase his RSU awards by another $10 Million. Then take a 100% paycut on his $1 base salary. See, he's working for free! Virtue Signal achievement unlocked!

What? Are you insinuating that people who are religious fanatics are usually hypocrites? Jim and Tammy Faye Baker would like a word with you.

Is he is only taking a 25% cut in his base salary or 25% cut in total compensation?
If it is only 25% cut of his base salary, then it is 250K out of a total of 180 million, which is a joke!
