Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Thought Ford was working on saving money?

Wondering how all the Ford employees and agency, that were layed off, to save Ford money, feel about everyone left behind getting $9000 extra this year?

Ford+ is just smart redesign with a different name. Neither Hackett nor Farley have any clue what it takes to build a vehicle and they have cut the wrong areas to move us forward. We're now seeing the results of that in quality and delivery.

Ford + is a joke. Just like the company. Keep appointing unqualified people who don’t know what they are doing…if you jump off a bridge do you think you are going to fly?

The nature of the Ford+ Plan company transformation reduces required resources by default. Surely you all know that BEV vehicles have much less mechanical components and thus need much less human capital for support. It is not hard to grasp.

Then you need to consider the change to a digital/software technology basis, which also requires less headcount to develop, test, and launch. Reductions will continue organically as a result of our new business model and revenue streams.

Ford has hired a lot for Software folks and if they don't get paid well they are gonna leave. Layoff is a different story. There is no point tying layoff cost savings with paying up the existing employees.

That said, layoffs is terrible way for a company to save cost. Especially when many laid off folks had skill sets to be accommodated in other depts

Do the discarded salaried workers get any portion of that pending bonus?
