Can confirm cuts NY/NJ

Just got off from listening to the call. NY/NJ is going to be focusing on cutting cost in western NY seems to be no money to be made. The DOS will be surplussed and will only have 1 area manager to cover Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. The DOS that covers Hudson valley will be taking over the rest of the area along with the Area manager of Buffalo. The rest will be getting their surplus notice shortly

Att is probably better off just having locations spread around that just deal with service issues like people who need a sim ASAP for phones the refuse to upgrade and don’t support esim and those who don’t know how to use google or YouTube to solve 99% of their problems.

Let’s me honest..retail at least in the North East has turned into a slam dunk contest with people slamming and doing fraud.

Lying to customers making them hate stores for the past 10+ years has made people with 1/2 a brain to rather just do it online and at least not get slammed.

AT&T is in the process of outsourcing their entire sales force to Solution Providers. They hav allocated a very large budget (triple 2022s spend) for the Alliance Channel and they have opened up 1,900 previously "AT&T Only" accounts for this channel. This is only the beginning. I expect many more layoff announcements over the next several months.

“ Looks like T is getting rid of its sales force all over the map! WTH is going on with this company! The economy is actually doing better than all the experts had anticipated and T is still running scared!”

Very simple….not getting “rid” of sales force, they are merely shifting work to Authorized Retail, Online and Business Services Service Providers. It’s costs T pennies on the dollar to do so.

I’m surprised it took so long for DOS to be targeted.

T is mostly a Southern and Wedtern company Texas , Georgia, California, Washington... The northeast offices are mostly legacy Bell labs and ATT locations ,it's not surprising, why should T pay for white collar professionals to live in hcol McMansions costing over $1mln ,where on Georgia they're a $300k home...

In this case I agree outside of field tech and stores , there should be zero offices in these states.

Yes, what about us cats in NJ? What are we? Chopped liver? If you can't make it in NJ, you can't make it anywhere.

Authorized Retail and Service Providers will eventually replace 90% of all AT&T direct sales resources, it’s clearly part of the roadmap.

Can they do that and get away with it? When you give up on NY you may as well close the doors and close the business down.
