Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Too many layers of management

There is hardly anyone here who thinks that Intel really needs all those VPs, but will this company ever get rid of unnecessary layers of management or at least some of the useless VPs...?

Obviously too many layers if you go up 11 grades and still are in middle management....

I think the pay cut is laying the ground work for the coming breaking up. A few round of this will make the book looks better. Real layoff will be pushed to the new entities under different company names. In the end, they can tell Brandon that "Intel didn't layoff anyone".

The only way to reform is to break the company apart and break the mutual political covers for a lot of them. The whole thing is just a mafia pretending to be a meritocracy. Once separated, however, self-preservation will force them to become competitive again.

Warmed my heart to see quite a few useless eaters reporting to the CPM redeployment pool manager... at least another 2k folks gone in 8 weeks time. Now let's only hope INTC has the resolve not to rehire them in a year as has been the case with previous actions.
