Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Does anyone here actually follow any bank policies?

I am somewhat new to the bank and noticed that our team does not follow a bunch of polices that as written seem compulsory.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I sent a note to manager - he shrugged and said "this is just the way it's done"

Do policies matter? Just continue as is or push back?

Keep quiet. Don't say a word about anything. If you do, you will be blacklisted by the old timers who know they can get away with whatever they want to get away with. It looks like they have tried to break those cliques up, but they still exist.

It really sickens me every day when I have to listen to these old timers with their blah, blah, blah... The one has diarrhea of the mouth and just loves to hear himself talk - and he is just so impressed with himself.

I can't wait to leave!!

Do a quick experiment; the next 10 co-workers you interact with ask them where the corporate policy site is.

Agreeing with everyone saying this is standard WF practice. I’ve seen this over and over firsthand, we only make the mistake of bringing this up once….

The bank is too big to manage, the higher ups constantly undermine any attempt to reign in issues like this.

If you work in risk…. Look for a new job, you are a veneer on consistent policy and law breaking.

Feel free to name the policy, OP. There are people that read this in HR, Legal, Risk, ORBO and investigations, for fun, and if a valid issue was aired out, we couldn’t refuse to look into it. In fact, name your department or area. Include your manager’s initials.

Formally complain or escalate, and it’s pointless/career su----e, on your team. You’ll have to leave the team at best.

Welcome to WF! Hang around long enough and someone else will eventually call out the same risk. Don’t for a minute think you’ll get any credit for raising your hand on this months or years ago. And be prepared to be considered as part of the problem.

A regulatory policy or internal? A lot of internal policies are outdated, unnecessary, broad on purpose, etc. Sometimes, the policy just needs to be rewritten.

What's the policy violation?

Methinks OP is a troll since he/she doesn't detail the infraction.

Raise your hand and report the violations. I work in a professional department, so, yes, we follow policies.
