Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Who wants to bet that hiring will continue?

Even with the latest announcement of coming layoffs, I'm betting you that we'll continue to hire left and right. It would be logical to have a hiring freeze before layoffs but not when it comes to Ford. This is where logic goes to die. I can't remember one time we had major layoffs without simultaneous hirings.

Companies like to "advertise" job postings to look busy.

@OP Well, what did you expect from the "smartest guy in the room". Of course we have to let go all those technical old guys, specially those with pensions, those are the worst, that cannot be retrained to tell lies supporting the C suite ideas, and instead they use their experience and their science based approaches to show managers how foolish are their ideas.

That's why we need all those FCG, all those naïve and cheaper youngsters, because they believe in rainbows and unicorns, they believe everything is possible even when it defies the basic laws of nature. Of course, we cannot stop hiring them, since their numbers wane when they hit the wall of reality and leave the company. It doesn't matter if they seem to be replacing the older folks, that's just coincidence. Yes, a coincidence that the judges of previous discrimination lawsuits missed and that's why we had to settle out of court.

We also need all those white collars workers in "lower cost areas", because they may not be naïve as the FCGs, but they will never pop the cr-p filled balloons of management with truths. They will say yes to all, and delay the inevitable burst of the balloons, giving time to managers to move into another position and spin a new story and perpetuating the cycle. IDK if it is because of the lax rules in their countries, or because none of them, nor their families, nor their friends, will ever buy a Ford vehicle, but they would recommend the cr-p that managers want them to recommend and will have no remorse about it.
