Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you are worried your going to lose your job, start applying now.

If you are constantly worried that you’re going to get let go, start applying now. Performance is based off your previous year so if you thought you were low or you’re not in the middle, start applying in and out of the company. The worst you could have is a job offer somewhere else that you would turn down. Take control of your future. Don’t live in fear. There are plenty of opportunities, you just need to be proactive.

Does anyone actually listen to anything Stankey says? He is a proven loser, doesn't deserve to make any strategic decisions regarding at&t. The company would be better off doing the opposite of what he says. I honestly believe he is intentionally trying to completely destroy at&t.

Everything in this post is true whether you like it or not. You can down vote it all you want.
Answer me this. Name one, just one, acquisition in the last TWO decades that AT&T has been involved in that was benefitting of AT&T or the company acquired?
You cannot. Randy is still on the AT&T teet and John is still the "smartest man in whatever he steps into". AT&T didn't get to be the most indebted company in the history of America without Stankey's wise guidance.

This is AT&T and this absolutely true.
Performance is based on how well you suck up to higher ups and whether or not you’re in their pathetic little golf clubs. They don’t care how well you actually work.

"leadership" has proven more than once to be incapable of choosing a winning strategy. Why would anyone trust "leadership" to identify those that will help the business going forward. "leadership" only knows to cut.
The following is from a town hall webcast. This is the transcription that webcast.
John Stankey. "It sounds like in order to facilitate some of this we need to get pretty clear on which products we are going to focus the market and carry forward with us and simplify (John gyrates hands in a meaningful manner) the complexity of cleaning up information technology infrastructure that might have been higher cost, improving the tool sets (John again reaches for the camera with his all knowing hand gyrations) that individuals have available to them. (Now for blast of Stankey leadership) (Stankey throws his hands around in large circles and demonstrates a quasi Kung FU hand move and states) So this is all kind off tied together, you can't do one and not the other kind of thing. Is that fair? At this point Jeff McElfresh replies, with a look that that says it all. "That is fair John. We cannot cost cut our way to success". The look on Jeff's face said it all.

After I watched this town hall webcast, I knew for certain that I would only do enough for this company to not get fired. Doing any extra would be a fools errand..

Most companies avoid hiring laid off at&t employees. They don't want to take a chance on hiring a RINGER.

“Performance is based on how well you suck up to higher ups and whether or not you’re in their pathetic little golf clubs. They don’t care how well you actually work.” … If you’re in a group that there is no way to distinguish between who is working and who is not, you need to be looking for a job regardless…
