Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

OKRs LOL

Make sure you ‘exceed’ all your OKRs this year to get that “Pat” on the back, and secure the right to be around for pay cuts, round 2.

Dude could admit that measuring employee performance, when virtually every single person in the company is about be laid off or looking for a new job, is yet another waste of time. But oh yeah, laser focus on pushing product, that’s right…

Who has a manager who actually knows what they do? Who has a manager who knows their own job? Write your own OKRs to "help" your manager and you will be okay. Oh, and the reason I did not get the work done that I was expected to do today is because, once again, I had some stupid data-driven measurement tool that Intel does not know how to use or analyze to complete. Another "efficiency" effort by Intel.

OKRs have been a clown show for our team. First there was the ridiculously toxic and widely understood in the industry stupid decision to tie OZRs to comp. Then we spent a ton of time agonizing about them at the team level only to ignore most of them by not assigning any owner. Keystone cops.

"Perhaps the agenda might be to use OKRs to decide who to lay-off"

Favorite thing about Intel is when the master of the obvious enters the chat

They could not possibly have distracted the company more. Nobody has their eye is on the ball right now.
