It seems that for the last five years at&t has been in constant turmoil. This environment is unhealthy and creates a less than prosperous business ecosystem. Very few, if any, employees feel energized and productive. Employees are running scared, concerned about getting laid off. Stankey and HR like to drag the whole employee rationalization program out to punish the T workforce. T is just a horrible place to work.

No turmoil in mobility. We have been carrying the company.
Stevenson… Stankey… Stevens… all narcissistic id--ts. Silenced everyone who told them their vision was flawed… now… we are paying the price for their lunacy… “cost structure” really means paying off debt for assets purchased for top dollar and then spun off for pennies…
Because SBC was always the worst of the worst. Their customer service was impossible to deal with. If you had a break fix, they would show up when they wanted to, never call ahead, and leave when they were turned away. On the other hand, Bell South treated their business well and were top notch with customer service. When SBC bought Bell South, I literally wept. Customers are treated poorly, so frontline people, who aren't in India, have to be paid well, because overall the customer is treated like a number.
Been like this since 1996....
Instead of innovating, the C-suite tried to buy its way to success. Now we're strapped with mountainous debt and failed ventures. As always, they tap into human capital to extract its value through layoffs.
Using debt as an excuse for underperforming. Sad.
T has been in turmoil since the late 90's when Ameritech, Pac-Bell, Bell South were merged into the old AT&T brand. All corporations are being scrutinized to death as is T, but T has the mismanagement of Randall and Stankey to deal with - making bad decisions, taking on a lot of debt, and more. And with ongoing innovations in technology, it's not going to change until stablization is reached, if ever.
