Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Suggestions for next steps

Are there any decent paying jobs for current Intel technicians (within ROC or Factory) outside of Intel? Is Tesla a good transition? What about Samsung? How does TSMC view Intel supporting staff?

There are several overqualified employees that could better utilize their education and leverage their Intel experience in other companies.

Many present lower management positions (production segment leader or OM or SGL) are former technicians with no formal training on their job responsibilities. There are DSE or NSE positions hired as engineers who have no mathematical background or engineering background. There are managers with no people-management or technical-skill. There are maintenance staff with little to no mechanical expertise.

The failed state of affairs within TMG at the lowest levels continue hindering those who are truly competent.

Intel compartmentalize knowledge way more than other companies. The job done by one person is usually fought over by 5, each hiding a few pieces from the others. This is by design. Intel can afford it. Employee can take easy. But it isn't good for employees at a time like this.

My advice is to stick around and let them fire you.
(Hint: they are weak)

Still low unemployment and if you are good lots of work.

Sadly most Intel folks feel entitled to big pay bump and easy hours and ability to B$ which isn’t accepted at most place, so stay with Pat

If you have any sort of work ethic, any of the vendors (AMAT, Lam, ASM, Tel, etc...) are easy places to land, not to mention any of the other Semi companies (Micron, Avago, TI, etc...) If I would give one point of advice it would be to learn to interview and sell yourself, I would recommend starting here - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP1UlYJH_QL4m5HVyikcxfQ

Some of these places have been burned by prior Intel employees with egos that didn't match their abilities, Wherever you go you will need to prove yourself.
