People in IBM, HP, Yahoo are doing just fine. Well at least the majority of them who has the talent or luck to survive. Intel is not going to collapse even if AMD sells as many server sockets they can make at TSMC or everyone wants a MacBook. Milk the system as long as you can and enjoy a high return low effort life.

That’s my plan but if Intel ends up a fraction of its previous size like many of the companies you mention, our individual odds of hanging onto our jobs get iffy. That’s my big concern about the current troubles, not the (hopefully) short term comp reduction.
