Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Help Desk

CFO talks about how outsourcing Help Desk to India has been a resounding success by every measure. Can’t think of a better way to prove that big wigs are completely out of touch with the employee experience…

Kathy has no credibility. She doesn't know what she's doing to this corporation.

Kathy has access to the special Executive only Help Desk and has no experience with the id--ts that we deal with.

Such arrogance is impressive.

I am wondering if Kathy dreamt her statistics and the “wonderful “ double digit improvement in the help desk. Can someone please educate her??!

The help desk is a joke! A set of 1960’s encyclopedias are more useful.

Just shows how out of touch upper management is. They are higher than a Chinese spy balloon.

Only ‘help desk’ I will do is an in-person one. I stopped calling and putting in tickets when service got humorously poor and was more painful that living with the problem (or waiting until stars to align when I could actually go to a real help center.) And here’s the rub. Execs get in-person IT support. Guarantee they never used the phone/ticket system.

So that’s where we are going with these siloed, outsourced organizations. People will stop working with them. Metrics will look good, because the only people entering tickets are their mental-supporters, who will rate them well anyway.

BTW tEAM, has anyone recently had the great pleasure of conversing with Bob/Bo-b at the help desk in India who pretended he was located in USA? I miss having conversations with him about sweltering heat in Alaska, in the middle of winter.

I especially miss him since they sent him for language / dialect training and he developed a new accent (to sound more American). They might have also given him a new name to mask his identity.

Help desk is straight trash if you aren't vip.

This is the truth.

EMIT Help Desk was not perfect but at least we had 3 important things that was historically signification and made USA great: Language, Border & Culture.

Unfortunately, the leaders in most companies these days have lost sight of this and sold their souls in order to increase their own wealth.

Don't forget, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others!"

Lets be honest, the EMIT Helpdesk was not any better in the past. It just cost 10 times more to operate.

@OP+1l7iPfhz did you really expect the CFO to jeopardize his mega bucks salary and say something akin to the truth, i.e. outsourcing to India was a totally bonehead decision and so sorry you Serfs in the U.S. have to suffer!

Better start liking the smell of stinky curry because the :FUN" is just starting, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.........
