Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

BTC is collapsing

just hiring by 100s and stuffing up a building doesnt mean growth. The most useless of URC employees have been sent here as managers and supervisors, the worst are the Indian nationals who return as expats with their fake and funny accents, throw in couple of US based expats who thi k they are masters of the people here. It is suffocating to be a btc employee and see the mgmt wag their tails in front of 100s of visitors. The amount of time and money spent for iseess activites and meetings is mind boggling, btc would be even more coat efficient if real work was done and real time was available vs id--tic cult ExxonMobil behaviors of managers and supervisors

Problem with BTC is that they don't hire the best.
The campus hires are majorly from tier 2 & 3 colleges from India as IITs don't give EM an early slot at placement because of the low salary offered.

The experienced hire are majorly from Reliance and L&T who have largely worked in downstream with a narrow range of experience and now have plans of retirement from EM.

The supervisors are non-technical as their work is to manage people's career, get them work, check their expense report item wise to see if any of them had an expensive lunch or drink or used laundry service at business trip.

All in all, the technical knowledge and capability is quite low at BTC and the investment being done to raise it to the par is not enough.
No surprise houston or BUs are disappointed by the quality of the work.

Many of the ones in US do next to nothing whole day, but pretend to redo and find errors in excellent work delivered by BTC.

Many of us in the US have to work with BTC staff and usually end up doing the work ourselves, because they do not understand the scope of the work, they do not deliver quality products, and they have absolutely no sense for deadlines, steady communication, and vacation planning.

How is this a sustainable business model?

Warren Doods, why don't you outsource your admins and bag boys to the BTC and see how that goes? Remember, we are in this together!

BTC is unlikely to survive long term. The company has chosen lower quality, higher quantity and lower cost which will eventually backfire. As most know, many of the business units are unhappy with BTC product and are being forced by management to continue the engagement.
Even IF BTC makes it longer term , management will see that the MSPs is all that’s needed. Having the XOM BTC acting as the middle man makes little sense, only adding cost and complexity to the process.
