Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Tesla is winning. And it's not even close

https://fordauthority.com/2023/02/ford-mustang-mach-e-sales-trail-model-y-beat-id-4-in-2022/amp/

For those too lazy to click.

Tesla sold 231,400 Model Ya in 2022.

The Ford sold 39,458 Mach-Es.

I won't even mention the Model 3!

Read another article that said Ford didn't produce a single Mach-e I'm January. So I doubt we'll close the gap.

When do you think we'll hit 231,400 Mach-Es total? Let alone in a single year?

I'll start 2028!

People buying Tesla are not buying it because it's an EV, they're buying it for the perception of luxury to others. Just like die hard Apple fandboys, they'll never switch or even consider it. Ford does not have that appeal, neither does Lincoln.

@1sid+1l8UacKt

Then why produce them? What kind of company takes 10s of thousands of reservations and then doesn't tool to produce them at volume? In fact, your response makes it sound even worse than just struggling to get parts to produce more!

Typical Ford!

"EVERY vehicle Ford builds has volume targets and Mach E/ Lightning not only do not meet those targets"

That is completely false. Both vehicles are being built at a volume far above original assumptions.

Clearly, an id--t, probably working at Ford Next, Model E or DFord are concerned of their failures and inability to deliver a successful product. EVERY vehicle Ford builds has volume targets and Mach E/ Lightning not only do not meet those targets but are fails in design, quality and execution. The recalls on those vehicles cost Ford lots of dollars that reduce profits as well as reduce customer confidence in our products.
The fakes that have been brought in from Tesla, Hewlett-Packard, Renault are destroying what was a profitable company.
Time they are all exposed and eliminated.

Mach-E and Lightning were never tooled for the volumes described here. Both have high demand and Ford is selling every one it can build.

I really wonder what people's backgrounds are when they make comparisons like this. Clearly they don't work in anything involved in the manufacture or selling of vehicles.

Mach E and Lightning are EPIC fails and shareholders and the invertment community are well aware. Both are plagued with recalls and unacceptable design and quality. Mach E's center display overheats and shutsdown when parked and exposed even to mild sunload. FLV attempted short term leases of the vehicle to ride hail drivers that rejected it.
DF can not engineer nor can the design team create an accessibly priced EV ( question what's going on in Irvine and expose the fails ). Musgraves' D-mbFord team continue to waste time, money and resources unsuccessfully attempting to define an EV charging process that Tesla and almost every OEM have perfected. It's long overdue that these fails are exposed and inferior leadership including FLV, KM, DF, JF, RM, CM must be removed and terminated. The stock continues to drop, shareholders need to know the truth and people must be held accountable.

Mach Es will never hit 231k. Interest will fade. Ford has to sell their models from the start.

Ford has already stated they will increase production of EV's every year and will produce well over 2 million EV's in 2026.

Tesla is becoming very vulnerable and Ford will take advantage. We already have in fact. How many electrified trucks has Tesla sold so far? When is the cyber truck coming out? How long has the Lightning been on sale?

Yeah, I thought so.

Tesla has Elon Musk, Ford has Bill and Farley. The visionary leader makes all the difference. Musk has SpaceX launching rockets with valuable payloads, Ford has FordNext launching nothing of value.
