Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Layoff process, could be worse!

Amazon employees at a large support facility recently came to work on Monday and found that their electronic badges weren’t working, so no access to the building or office. No phone, no e-mail, no communication at all, they were blindsided. Going forward I’m sure the still employed will reciprocate and start looking for other opportunities if they are smart. Their severance is based on length of service, 2 weeks pay for every year employed and will get their stock options.

A consultant company hired by Amazon uses an algorithm to make the selections. Length of service, manager input etc… weren’t considered. One person had just been promoted and others were long term employees with good ratings. Companies are going back to the days of the Lords and Serfs in regards to labor, no humanity only the bottom line.

OP, wasn’t that in Atlanta at the Op’s or operational center?

Gotta protect those bytes but there are much better ways to handle this situation in a dignified, humane manner and still protect the companies assess.

Disgusting!! People are getting fed up with the C-suites and their cronyism’s!!
