Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Clearly, not enough bank regulation

Never want to hear WF or any other bank complain about too much regulation ever again. Clearly, there isn't enough regulation!

Thanks, PAB (aka TFG), for getting rid of regulation that would have prevented SVB collapse. Nice job.

And spare me the tin foil hat-wearing, delusional MAG*Ts about to come of the woodwork to scream otherwise. They've proven they don't know how to read, and are perennially drunk on cult Kool-Aid.

Banks don’t need more regulation or better regulation. Banks need better regulators, i.e., people. So many of the bank failures and scandals that have taken place over the years could have been stopped if the people regulating the banks had just done a better job. And part of the problem is bankers and regulators are joined at the hip. Regulators are too easily assured by bankers that say everything is fine.

Regulation is good. Now the government needs to get much tougher with enforcement and penalties. Send some leaders to jail for white collar crime.

Maybe the small or regional banks should have the same requirements as the bigger banks then

So cute how OP thinks that regulations exist for any reason other than facilitating the continued dominance of the giant banks. It has nothing to do with any individual politician, it's been the case for at least a century and no politician goes anywhere without the approval of corporate masters.

Federal regulators are good folks. there's been a lot of them here over the last couple years, but they've feedback has allowed us to be the safest big bank out there.
