Go to Wikipedia and it will tell you how many employees T has as of March, 2023, that number is pretty accurate!
it was around 315,000 10 years ago before Time Warner acquisition. Where did you get that number? Doesn’t sound right.
Don’t forget the thousands of underlings whom frequently change titles without any direct reports that are on the friends and family plan. Someone has to create useless reports and new ways to micromanage because that’s a valuable asset for all the endless nonproductive meetings.
AT&T has over 1,600 AVPs, VPs and Presidents alone. That number should be well below 1,000 if AT&T is at 150k employees.
The downturn and downsize of Telcom has arrived. Company needs to cut 53K more jobs by end of 2025 to support the Fiber and Mobility only.
I wouldn’t place much faith in your tech to manager layoff ratio. The outside craft have a signed no-layoff MOA with the company for the rest of 2023. The company has stated they are top heavy and need to transform to compete.
I'm betting that if there aren't a lot of bargained for personnel cut on Wednesday, 3/15 as some people might be expecting or hoping, then I'm quite confident that the head count reduction in Management will be minimal moving forward! I know there's a lot of chatter about announcements in the last month of each quarter, but let's hope that the reductions are very targeted and minimal which should provide a glimmer of hope for all!
Depends on economy. If recession hits this year expect big cuts. How is your org doing? Are you getting lots of new projects? If you doing only modernization, then that work can stop any time.

So, with this recent head count disclosure, how many more employees are expected to be on the chopping block before the dust settles, at least for this year?
