Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ management is clueless

about 20% of the people doing 80% of the work..so many getting paid from other part time jobs on the side while VZ is paying them too.. It's laughable, but I guess when the cats away the mice will play !

Pretty sad when you here people are being laid off to save costs and we have people being paid to do nothing or worse being paid while they work on the side at another job while getting paid by VZ..they need to get rid of all upper management and start over

This is definitely pervasive at Verizon and management is indeed clueless about it. I know 2 people on my team that for sure have side gigs during work hours and suspect a couple more. WFH is great when people actually work for the job they signed up for, but sucks for those of us actually working and picking up the slack..

Wasn't there a Wired article a few years ago about a guy in India who was getting 3-4 paychecks from the same company by creating jobs in different names and hiring himself to the company? Apparently these kind of things are pretty common in various parts of the world.

and when they rif, it comes out of the 20% because they are higher paid and accountants think they can be replaced for cheaper

@1eoy+1lD5PVaE You are right! The smart 3%, the other 97% feel threaten by the 7s that are trying to get ahead …. I’ve seen it way so many times

Post ID: @1fap+1lD5PVaE This is just d-mb business and career management.

"This happens cause level 6 managers are insecure and hire level 7 managers that are not a threat."

"Au contraire Savoire Faire!" The Smart 6s with multi decades at the company hire the absolutely smartest and most robust 7s to keep things fresh and protect their own "Six". Then when those 7's skyrocket to 5's and above, hopefully, they will remember who helped them.

And that is how smart managers operate.

I know a person foo1ish enough to post on his profile that he works a second job ! I think he is trying to impress people but he is incriminating himself. He needs to go anyway. He’s a D E I hire gone totally wrong.

So true, I know 6 people working jobs at other companies on the side during hours they are supposed to be working at VZ.. when you only come in once a month it's easy!

This happens cause level 6 managers are insecure and hire level 7 managers that are not a threat. When level 6 mgr realizes their level 7 are useless then they end up doing all of the level 7’s work aka micromanaging. Now the level 7’s get paid to do nothing or just make processes needlessly difficult . Level 6 is in over their head not realizing they created their own problems. This example times 10000 is what is wrong in the company.
