Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Should I join RCSA?

My mgr told me he wants me to reallocate to RCSA team for several mos. but will pick someone else if I'm not interested. Anyone have thoughts for or against RCSA teams?

I'm nervous about leaving my regular role for so long. Not sure if it will be there when I'm done with RCSA. Have to tell him this week.

If you have an option, don’t do it. It’s a colossal mess and even though my team went through the whole process, we still have to redo it. It’s unbelievably frustrating to have people write the controls who actually have no idea what the team they represent is actually doing. And even when someone speaks up and tries to talk, they are clipped at the knees by facilitators or other LRC who literally invent impossible scenarios. Run, don’t walk away.

My experience with ECBE is they take the control testing results and rubber stamp it

Only agree to RCSA if you enjoy long hours and stress without any additional compensation. I wish I had been given a choice.

It may not be there if you say no to the RCSA work. Just a thought.

I'd recommend having conversations about what you'll be doing after RCSA, because if the business has survived without you they may just deem you redundant when it's over.

I volunteered for RCSA and am not happy. The volunteers they need will take action items, meeting minutes, and data entry. You will be treated like a low-level employee. The facilitators are unhealthy, overworked, young, and egotistical workaholics. The hours are long and there is no work-life balance. I push back as much as I can. I believe that I will be displaced when I return given imminent org changes and I see no future in RCSA. Only way to move up would be given an opportunity to be an FST lead or facilitator even though I am a senior lead in my space I do not foresee that happening. It is not a role I would apply for as the pay would not change presumably. When I provide feedback am ignored. It is not a healthy environment and considering EAC and HR cases.

Do you like your current role? If not, then go do RCSA.

If you don’t like RCSA, then apply for other roles while you are there. They can’t force you to stay

If you like your current role but think this could open new doors, talk to your manager now about taking you back in 6 months to hedge.

What is wrong with you people? If you hear RCSA, then run! No good will come out of this.

Typically when you volunteer/voluntold to take on a new opportunity/project, you may get trapped and unable to return to your prior role. Ask specific questions about the commitment and if the response is vague and filled with uncertainty you may want to stay where you are (if your position is stable).

If you find that kind of work interesting then do it. It’s a visible role, but I also know of people putting in looong hours on RCSA projects - not everyone but some so I guess it depends on the expectations and what you are willing and able to commit to. Feel free to ask questions before you commit.

RCSA work does not seem interesting at all. After the work is done, then what? If you say no though, then you may not be viewed as a team player so that could be detrimental as well. Lose/lose situation no matter what you decide.
