Because Charlie is running the bank into the ground. Stock is in the tank, we trail all our peers in ROA and ROE, we have a huge “settlement” announcements every other month, and there’s no end in sight for the asset cap.
In this case, yes I’m sure Charlie would LOVE to get WFC into a “hot” tech market. He’d love to ditch all the d-mb boring banking sh-t and focus on tech, wealth, investment banking etc.
I can already see the landing page articles about the acquisition that cements us as a tech-first company.

Regardless of asset cap, I doubt the Fed would allow a large bank to buy them.
I sold some FRC puts on Monday, closed them for a 33% gain on Tuesday.
