Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Severance - last day

Well this is it. With over twenty years at Verizon I’m saying goodbye due to be severed. I want to thank all of you that post info on these layoffs. It’s normally true. Two layoffs happen every year. Don’t let the trolls on here tell you otherwise. It’s bitter sweet, but I’m looking forward to life outside this place. I’m looking for a place that values opinions, has a great CEO and doesn’t have layoffs 2x a year. So clearly not Verizon. It would also be a plus if said company fixes issues in a timely manner instead of telling you for 2 years that it’s in the next update. Peace out…may you be blessed with severance play if it’s your wish.

You won, you just added about 5 years back onto your life. Enjoy your life, and family, and enjoy having less stress.

As other have said, you are much better off. You will be able to enjoy life again and you will find another job when you are ready. I volunteered in 2018 and have not looked back. Took a few years off and now I have a work from home job that allows me flexibility. I also left with a little over 20 years and I totally loved my job for the first 15 or so, but then it became stressful and toxic. Employers love to hire former Verizon employees. Good luck to you!

Verizon has way more than 2 layoffs a year. They pretty much occur most months, even if isolated pockets. The next big one is going to be when VGS figures out what they can unload or outsource.

@1jiq+1lGe942j has not been with the phone company long enough yet. If they survive, they will learn too.

This post is suspect. This is not how it works at Verizon.

Good luck to you. Sorry it had to end this way. But there is life after Verizon…it’s called FAMILY. I cherish every second away from this toxic work environment to watch my children grow up and spend time with them. Verizon could care less that I have a family that is priority number one. Work to live, don’t live to work.

Good luck and sorry to hear it, it's still ruff. Did this just happen like that or months ago and the time given is finally here? What dept were you with?

It is good that you are leaving as the place has gotten quite toxic. It will change. But time to go now. Good luck!
