Breakthrough Research Funding - What Did We Actually Commercialize?

We have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on Breakthrough Research Programs over the last 20+ years. Breakthrough Research was defined as high risk, high reward research.

What Breakthrough funded research programs were actually commercialized?

I cannot think of one.

Annandale is the dumpster of the corporation. Nothing profitable has come out of that hole in the last twenty years. It just consumes money and more money for nothing. I am really amazed that that place is still open. I hear that the number of employees is so low over there that the place is practically empty. I wonder with Darren keeps this place open. I doesn't make any sense. Especially now that we have LCS that will replace Annandale in the do nothing accomplish nothing space.

Nice fancy title in HQ. No direct reports. Probably taking care of the algae in his backyard pond.

Anyone know why he was passed over during last years reorg? Was it because of algae?

The original breakthrough process started in Chemicals after a then-VP returned from an African safari vacation and compared the lion cubs in one of his photos to important early stage programs that needed extra nurturing and support (no joke-I was there in BTEC east for that fiasco). Unfortunately, most ExxonMobil managers can’t tell the difference between a Christmas wish list and a viable technical program portfolio. And today’s sycophants are even more clueless.

Annandale is just a disgusting place. Everyone who worked here or spent sometime here is purely disgusting.

“We” only run the batches to manufacture products for customers. If we do create something you won’t see it in the news unless it’s some biodegradable plastic.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Annandale has wasted so much money for the corporation. I just can't believe Darren keeps that dumpster open. They keep wasting money in useless projects.
